Most locations throughout the country do require alarm permits in order to have a security system with a central station dispatching. The best way to see if your home requires an alarm permit would be to contact your local police department or check their online website. Most areas refer to these as "Alarm Permits"

If you find out you do require an alarm permit, please make sure to update us so we can place the permit number on your account. This will allow our central monitoring station to dispatch your local authorities in the event of a triggered alarm. 

Without the alarm permit, there is a possibility that your local police department will not dispatch in the event your security system has an alarm or they may dispatch, and fine you for not having a Permit on file with them.
